The navigational computer (Figure 1-14-1) is a general purpose digital computer containing a central processing section, input/output section, memory and power supply. The computer is mounted on the electronics rack in the cabin.
The functions of the indicators on the navigational computer are as follows:
a. BITE Indicator. Electrical reset-type failure indicator. Shows white when unit fails Built-In Test (BIT). Indicator is automatically reset to all black (normal) indication if failure detected
is not a continuous failure.
b. OVER TEMP Indicator. Momentary resettype failure indicator. Indicates black/white when unit overtemperature has occurred. Indicator is manually reset to all black (normal) indication by rotating clockwise and releasing.
c. Time Totalizing Meter. Indicates total elapsed running time of navigational computer.
The front panel of the computer contains a Built-In Test (BIT) indicator, an overtemperature (OVER TEMP) indicator and a time totalizing meter. Internal cooling is provided by a fan.
