The tactical plot is created from symbols placed on the display, representing various aspects of the tactical situation. See Figure 1-14-12 for explanation of symbols. There are four major types of symbols:
a. Working. Aircraft, base ship, hook, datum, fly-to points, boats, circles and cursors. b. Sonobuoy. ACTIVE (RO), CASS, DICASS, DIFAR, VLAD and LOFAR. c. Contact. MAD, RADAR, ESM, DIFAR and VLAD bearing, DICASS contact and sonobuoy range circles. d. Attack. Position, weapon release point, recommended range-to-target and intercept.
