The TACNAV system displays cues to the operator for selection and status of operating modes, entry and readout of data. These cues are classed as follows:

a. Mode Selection. These cues appear when certain switch-indicators on the TACCO control unit are depressed.
b. Data Entry. These cues guide the operator in entering the data at the correct time, sequence and format.
c. Tableau. The tableau entries are fully cued for entry of all data.
d. Flashing Symbols. Whenever the SENSO makes a MAD, RADAR or sonobuoy contact entry, the corresponding symbol or annotation will appear on the display for 60 seconds.
