The TACCO control unit is used to control the data display of the TACNAV system. The controls and indicators are illustrated in Figure 1-14-2 and described in Figure 1-14-3.
Legends on all switch-indicators are illuminated red whenever the system is powered. Some switch-indicators have a green illuminated triangle in the lower half. Whenever the switch function of a switch-indicator is selected, the green indicator illuminates to signify that the switch function is active. Lighting of the green indicator is under the control of the navigational computer. Five keyboard switch-indicators have only red illuminated legends. They are REDIS, ERASE, MARK, DATA and RCNTR.
The green indicator of the SENSO switchindicators illuminates whenever the SENSO is making a SONAR, RADAR, sonobuoy contact or MAD entry. This cues the TACCO to take appropriate action. Depressing the SENSO switch-indicator causes the green indicator to go out and the data to be accepted by the display.
The TACCO control unit is located at the TACCO’s position. The panel lighting is controlled by the TACCO’s switching and dimming panel.
