The tape recorder system is a remotely controlled, fourteen channel tape system used in the training of sonar operators. Sonar operations are recorded for playing back on completion of training flight, or mission, and provision is made for monitoring the signals being recorded.

Electrical power for the system is obtained from the aircraft 28 VDC supply.
