The Z-AHP remote control panel (Figure 1-10-12) is installed on the side facing console and contains all the operating controls. The KY-58 control switches and functions are as follows:
a. C/RAD1, PLAIN, C/RAD2 Switch. A rotary switch for selecting plain or ciphered communications. C/RAD2 is not used.
b. MODE Switch. A rotary switch marked “OP”, “LD” and “RV”. In the OP (operate) position the KY-58 is selected for secure voice operation in either plain or cipher mode. The LD (load) position is used to load the fill registers from a common fill device, and the RV position is not used.
c. DELAY Switch. A toggle switch which is not functional in this installation.
d. FILL Switch. This switch, marked “1” through “6”, allows the loading of crypto-variable codes as well as selecting the appropriate register for secure voice operation.
e. POWER/ON Toggle Switch. Used to apply power to the KY-58 system.
f. ZEROIZE Switch. A guarded switch which when activated, erases all six preset codes at once in the KY-58 signal processor.
